Android Central Question

I have a Galaxy S8. Yesterday the status and navbar remained hidden and did not revert (no effect whatsoever) even when i double tap the button on the left of the navbar. I have to swipe down on the status bar twice to read my notifications. The entire phone seems to be in some sort of immersion mode and it is breaking some apps llike Whatsapp. The phone is completely stock with Nova launcher. Could anyone please help me solve this?

Yes, I had checked through the Display settings. I have enabled 'Show and hide button' in the Navigation bar settings, but this button does not seem to be working when i double tap as it says I should. The button shifts from a hollow circle to a filled one but the bars remain hidden. I am unable to find an option to hide/unhide the bars themselves.

Use Samsung smart sync
Clear Settings cache
Set it to always show
Reboot
Make sure that works reliably.

I had an issue with Settings closing and crashing repeatedly over and over that reqd reset.

You can try resetting apps preferences and permissions to default.

Sometimes the quickest fix is the one that looks hardest.

SSS is very good at restoring.

Tried these, does not seem to work. I cannot seem to find the smart sync app. Is it the same as smart switch?
