Re: Galaxy S8

That is really up to you. It is almost impossible for anyone to say you need to wait for the S8 since that is a long ways away.

Re: Galaxy S8

Note 7. Galaxy 8 is 9 months away, will have a smaller battery, smaller screen and could be the worst device ever because it's 9 months away.

S8 will be abetted VR phone since it'll almost certainly sport Samsung's new bio blue 4k display. It'll also be Google Daydream certified although who knows if gear VR will be allowed to play nicely with daydream.

If the note 7 had 4k, I'd be pretty down to pay the premium. VR is the exciting thing right now that will force phone specs up (memory, resolution, battery). I don't want to be with a phone for the next two years that can't participate.

What features of the Note 7 have you considering it? Aside from the larger screen and S pen it shouldn't be that different from your current S7. Unless you're getting it free, or at a significantly reduced price it would seem like a waste of money given what you have. Like others have said who knows what an s8 would be, and it wouldn't come out until next year.

I think the note and s line are marketed at different crowds. If you want a larger screen and the s pen go for note, otherwise it isn't a huge improvement over the already powerful s7. The s8 most likely will have whatever the latest chip at the time is and maybe a higher res screen.

Since yo already have an S7, the only real upgrade is the s-pen and a bigger screen. I would definitely wait till the Galaxy s9 to get a real upgrade. :)

Samsung is going to have to absolutely bring it with the S8 to make up for the Note 7 debacle. Seriously, they can't afford to hold anything back.

Good point. Samsung may go all out on the S8 even more than originally planned, to make up for the Note 7. Possibly up the specs and features even more.
