Galaxy Tab 3 to GS4: Using WiFi Direct..?!

Is there a way to connect my GT3 to my S4 using WiFi Direct so I can access the Web, etc. from it..?!

My daughter's S4 has a Wifi hotspot just like my HTC Evo 3D and I've used both to provide data to my Tab 3.8. Bluetooth should work too.

I tried to do that, but when I tried to get the GT3 to connect to it after putting in the password it would say:

Saved, secure

But wouldn't connect.

EDIT: Finally got it to connect, but refused to do anything, even went directly to the Play store on my PC, and logged in to get it to send the download of TrustGo to it while it was connected to my S4, still didn't do anything.

And how would I get it on the tablet, as it's fine putting it on my S4, but I assume it needs to be on the tablet as well.

HitcherNet is a great app for wifi direct between mobile devices.
