I use mp pc to copy MP3 files into a Folder on SD card called ABC_Music, I then check that the files have been copied over correctly & can play from the sd card. I now insert sd card into Samsung Galaxy Tab A, the folder is still there but no files inside? Any other files like photos & movies are there & work, but NOT MP3 files. I have tried 4 times now, so need to find out whats wrong.

Welcome to Android Central! What happens if you keep the SD card in the tablet and connect the tablet to your computer via USB? Then use Windows Explorer to drag and drop the music files from the computer to the SD card?

Also, are you copying a massive amount of files in one operation? If so, try breaking it up into smaller batches. I've found that huge file transfer operations can sometimes lead to data error.

Have you tried putting a different format on the sd card ie: flac wma to see if they play. What program are you trying to play them with?
I have a Galaxy tab pro 8.4 and as an experiment I downloaded an mp3 from Google drive, moved it with Samsung Myfiles app (ES explorer is unable to write to an external SD card for some reason) and the mp3 plays fine from inside a folder on my sd card.
Have you tried to see if you can play mp3's from a folder within the tab A?
