Galaxy Tab? Adapter (USB)

Any format that the Tab recognizes should work just fine. It connects the drive as if it were a second internal drive, so you can use it as you would your normal internal drive

You are 100% right. But sometimes you might have issues with the size of the file...I.E. 4gb mkv file.

I have a bit of a stupid idiotic question but can I plug in my phone to my tablet using this and use it as a external. I would think so because of the way the PC's read the devices. But I would love a confirmation before I grab this for me.

Just wanted to add in my personal experience so far...

Received my adapter today, and I can confirm that with a powered hub you can connect an external hard drive and play media from it, given the drive is formatted properly. I have a 500GB Seagate GoFlex drive that I formatted to MS Fat (I'm on a Mac) and then transferred a movie to it. Connected via the adapter and a powered hub, and the movie showed up in the Gallery. This makes me feel a lot better about getting the 16GB Tab instead of the 32GB!

Confirmed, also. i just received my adapter today. the Cruzer was formatted NTFS (i reformatted it to remove the U3 app a while ago). once i reformatted the Cruzer to FAT32, it was recognized by the tab. Too bad, i like NTFS, but i guess it will have to do.

FYI, when the flash drive is connected, tap the lower right corner of the tablet (clock) to bring up quick view. you will see a message saying either USB connected or USB blank/unsupported. Remember to do the same and tap to disconnect safely.

I also used a short 2' USB extension cable. still, i can see the adapter will be a bit of an annoyance if i plan to use it attached for long duration.

can anyone confirm if you can stream straight from the USB drive a movie or music?

yea I am also streaming from my USB drive. I got the Elago Mobile Nano II USB 2.0 microSDHC with a 32gig SanDisk Micro SD card and it works great. I like the low profile look of it because the Samsung USB adapter is already big enough.

i like that setup +1

How do I transfer the videos form my thumb drive to my tablets internal memory?

You will need the usb adapter first then plug them into the tab. You will also need to download astr from the market place. Then use astro to go inti usbstorage and long press and copy and paste it. I would put it in the download folder.

You have a micro sd plugged in through a usb adapter?
