I've been having charging issues with my Galaxy Tab S2 for quite a while and I think they're getting gradually worse. I bought a brand new official Samsung charger for it a couple of months ago and it's made no difference so I'm sure the problem must lie with the tablet. Even using this new charger it takes 10 hours or more to charge fully from say about 3 or 4% battery. What can I do?

from say about 3 or 4% battery
That's your answer, right there. Lithium batteries are not deep-discharge batteries. If you can't charge by the time the battery drops to 40%, turn the device off. (50% is the best charging point, but 45% won't shorten the battery life too much. 40% is the "drop dead" point - charge or turn off.)

You've managed to kill the battery in a couple of months (and it's surprisng that it's lasted that long). Now you'll have to have the battery replaced. (And no, misuse isn't covered under warranty. Why don't they tell you that? Because battery replacement is a high-profit job for the shop and for Samsung.)
