Anybody heard of the S pen would work on this tablet if bought separately?

The S Pen only works on devices with the extra pen layer in the screen, Any active or passive pen will work, though (they work on the normal digitizer layer.)

No, part of the reason for lower cost is no S-Pen support. You can use any capacitive stylus though....not quite the same experience as an S-Pen.
