Galaxy2 Lock screen image problem

I want to use a photo in my gallery as my lock screen but when I try to set it I get the adjusting frame coming up and it won't let me drag out to encompass the whole pic. The result is that when I set the pic as lock screen I only get the centre of the pic. Can anyone help with this? I am on a Galaxy2 Jelly Bean.
