Gaming performance decrease

Nope, I dont think so.
You must have a credit card available for any Amazon purchases whether they are free or paid.

If you wanted Angry Birds Seasons (Free Version) you could just download that of the Android Market. There was no need for the Amazon AppStore.

You will need the Amazon AppStore if you need the paid version of Angry Birds (No Ads). Thats the only thing Amazon has right now with Angry Birds, exclusivity. That and one paid app a day for free, every day. :)

Yeah I was thinking about downloading doodle jump too since its free today and paid in da market

Sorry to bring back a seeming dead thread, but thought it was better then starting a new one.

This screen lag is something that has bugged me from the minute i got this phone. Dont get me wrong I love this phone for its size and speed and most of all, got it free as an upgrade. But I am the type that has to know everything a device i own is capable of and try to get it to do more. I am also a gamer from way back so of course a few mindless fun game were a few of the first apps I installed. I'll tell you, Angry Birds is about loads of fun (love physics based games) but it lagged, froze and was incrediebly tedious to play. Other games too I had slight issue, but AB was the most drastic. This lag and freeze was so innoying it was what first convinced me to root and custom rom my phone.

I still on occation have a few hiccups but mostly they run better with reborn or cm7. But still they do, if vastly reduced, happen. Are others still having these issues or what? If this is as good as the device gets, I can deal with it. But if I am have some kind of hardware issue, I would like to know. That would require me re flashing stock and unrooting my phone to take it in for service, not alot of fun. Any thoughts?

Angry Birds will never run perfectly on the Optimus S but it will run more than fine. If on Reborn the system should already be overclocked. If you are on a ROM that is not overclocked by default then you will want to get SetCPU and play with overclocking. Next install "Adfree Android" if you still have ads popping up in game. This makes a fairly large difference as the ads apparently caused most lag. Finally turn off background images by touching the lil mountain looking icon in game settings.

With all that done angry birds runs fine for the most part but will still have trouble on certain levels due to the amount of blocks and such. For those levels just wait until everything stops moving and then fire away once more.

I am currently running scott pilgrim cm7 and running ad free. If that is as good as it gets I am fine with that. Just checking to see if others had the same issue too.

Reset settings on reboot is checked.

With these settings both netflix and angry birds work great, but it only helps you if youre running an overclock kernel with cyanogenmod or setcpu. Scott Pilgrim cm7 has a built in overclock kernel and the above is specific for that rom. Anyone else is advised to get an OC kernel and setcpu. The same settings are available in the setcpu settings.
