gaps still present in current batches

It's illegal to market a used phone as new. Im sure the OP was looking at new, never used devices.

Jennifer is correct, I was looking at brand new sealed phones. I highly doubt a retailer such as Best Buy would repackage returned phones knowing how illegal it is for them to sell used product as new.

I agree I hate best buy but you can walk in and find just about anything for a deal as a open box or display so they don't market that big stuff as new so why try it with a phone, not to mention I'm sure of its returned for a defect there compensated by HTC

With all but one htc one that I tried to buy. The one that was gapless had 10 dead pixels on the screen.

Two I actually purchased and then noticed the dead pixels on both after the fact so I returned them. I then checked out another 4-5 units at various stores before buying (Made them open the boxes and let me play before paying) and all were defective. They either had Dead Pixels, noticeable gap issues, Screens that dipped further into the aluminum in different areas or Scratches on the screen right out of the box. I'm bummed because to this day, I still really want this phone but can't find a good one. My buddy at work got a flawless one on his first try :(

Any updates on this? My HTC One that I bought 4/4/2013 has raised screen only on the upper edge, and recessed black plastic rim right over the sim card area. I don't use a case, but have clear body protectors and screen protector on all times. The low build quality was always bothering me, and finally decided to try a replacement from AT&T.

I expect the build quality to be perfect since it is a high-end product. I know Nokia (Lumia 920) and Apple's iPhones have perfect build quality. Why can't HTC do it?
