GB leak VM notification issues - a fix?

Gang -

While running various remix/reboots/tweaked roms, and of course the official leaked RUU GB roms, there was the issue of never seeing the notify of a carrier VM.

Now this did happen while running the 2.11 leak and now noticed on two roms based off the 2.11 GB leak.

So, I went into call settings and saw that voicemail had carrier selected, it was not checked when I opened it. Neither was Google Voice. So I checked Carrier and will see what happens.

Anyone who still has this bug, please check the above and if yours is not checked.

If running GB leak but not seeing this, check if yours is in fact checked.

Thanks!

sad to say it won't work--after flashing at least 10 ROMs in the past month and always having to enable GoogleVoice after checkmarking the VMNotification option & 'mycarrier', the notification won't show unless you either:
1) reboot the phone
or
2) hibernate the phone, bring it out of hibernation

it won't resolve the issue--but GoogleVoice voicemail notification is the fix for me :)
good thought, though.

Remedy as has been pointed out to others is to use google voice and stop paying for an inferior application

Wait, Verizon includes voicemail? Honestly, I never even set it up. Google Voice is free, it was drop-dead simple to set it up, I get visual voicemail-y things, SMS-y things, and email-y things, and I can check my voicemail from darned near anything that has Internet or a dial tone. I wouldn't take Verizon Visual Voicemail at this point if you gave it to me for FREE, much less regular Verizon gotta-dial-in-and-use-minutes-voicemail.
