I went from Froyo to the leaked non-rooted GB update. The battery life sucks now.. (see other thread). And suggestion was made to root and use Titanium pro to freeze bloatware.

My question... is there an easier way to root now? Meaning... without having to SBF back to froyo? I am a newb to most of this. I have read more threads on GB and my mind is pretty numb. have no clue what Deoxed or odexed or whatever the heck people are talking about. I just want to root so I can freeze bloatware. Help?

The only way I know is to sbf back to froyo, root using z4, then get droid2bootstrapper from market, get rom manager from market. Get the method 2 (the 2file version part1 and part2) rename files so you can see part# near beginning of file. Then click on d2 boot strapper. Click bootstrap recovery. After it says success click reboot recovery. Once in boot loader...click install zip from sd. (use the volume to move up/down and camera to select) then click install from sd again. Click on part 1. when finished click on part 2. When done click on reboot phone. That should do it. Hope that helps. Otherwise you can wait until someone comes up with an easy root method.
