Gboard autocorrect problems

Hey guys. I'm having trouble with Gboard. Although I much prefer swiftkey, it has been laggy and missing key presses for no reason. So I'm trying to get accustomed to Gboard, which seems to be working properly, but its lack of a decent autocorrect function is driving me insane. Is there anyway to make it autocorrect lowercase i to a capital I? Or "im" to "I'm"? This seems like such an obvious thing to autocorrect.

Hi, if you just start using it let it learn your words and corrections.

So there is no way to set it up from the start? I think I will go back to SwiftKey then as I much prefer the layout and features. Gboard is now giving me the same lagging/misses keypress issues that SwiftKey is at random, so there is no point in trying to adapt to it. I have no idea how to fix this and it happens completely at random.

You can clear data,cache,force stop gboard it will reset it , but any keyboard will have to learn your typing

I get that. But all of the other keyboard apps make these corrections from the start.

I use ,gboard, samsung keyboard and swift key , that's how the experience was for me
