Gboard saves as draft if i back out

Every time I swipe and back out of messages with Gboard it saves as a draft How can I prevent this?

Dont leave anything in the type bar after exiting out .

Welcome to Android Central! It's not Gboard that's saving the draft -- it's your messages app. This is normal behavior if you started typing something but didn't send it.

What are you doing right before you see that message? Are you certain you're not inadvertently tapping the text entry field before you hit the Back button?

All I'm doing is backing out of composting a text by gesture swiping up from the bottom right corner like I've been doing forever

Make sure , it doesnt have to be a word even a period will save in draft if left in type bar and exiting it happens to me
