g'bye my ol friends.....

Why does everything have to resort to comparisons?
Let me end it this way.

The Droid is the best Motorola phone in the market and the incredible is among the 3 best HTC phones available now.
2 different manufacturers, 2 different OS's, 2 different hardwares, 2 different screens.
Why are we even comparing them?
Why is everyone trying to put the opposite phone down?
Crap, all incredible users love their phone, lets let them love it. All Droid users love their Droid, continue doing so.
This battle could go on forever. Yet it won't.
;)

I completely agree. Each user has different preferences and needs. This is just another option for people to choose from. I just don't want anybody to read that guys BS claim of 3 day battery life on an overclocked droid. Especially people who are considering to get a droid and be let down when it doesn't last that long. You, me and every other root user knows that isn't true. But that aside, I think every droid and incredible owner should be happy with whatever they choose due to many similarities.

I agree, if you expect 3-day battery life on ANY smartphone I want some of what you're smoking. Won't happen with current battery tech.

I'm never someplace where I can't plug in, so it's not an issue. I just need a phone to get me through the day, period.

I'm normally someone who wants to jump to the latest and greatest. I've had an iPhone 2G, 3G, Palm Pre, HTC Hero (Sprint), and more recently the Droid. I can safely say the Droid, with Android 2.1, is the best phone I have ever used.

For my purposes, 2.1 is perfect. I can tweak it as needed, and it does what I need it to. Could it be faster? Sure. Hopefully 2.2 fixes the issue, but we'll see. Either way, I'm happy. I'm also happy for the Incredible users. The more people on Android, the better. I'm sick of Apple's closed ecosystem.

On a more general note, can Google please release a media app?

so weasle hows your incredible experience so far, or are you too good to talk to us now haha

I played with an Incredible a couple days ago and it's definitely faster than my modified Droid running at 1ghz. Everything was noticeably quicker. It's not just the processor, it's the memory as well. More memory will always make a difference and in some cases a sizable one. The keyboard and pinch zoom were strikingly more responsive as well. Believe me, I didn't go in there expecting to be impressed, but I have to admit, I was.

To the OP: I'm not making the leap for a while because I love my Droid and will prefer an even bigger screen. But you will love the Incredible.

I've made the same switch, and I can definately say the stock battery in the droid is waaaay better than the incredibles. However, my Droid is Overclocked to 1ghz, and side by side, is just as fast as the incredible. I'm not even that impressed with the amoled screen, you can actually see the pixel matrix when there is a large area of solid color. The droid is definately a better phone overall, but the incredible can play flash content out of the box, and for me, the big selling point is the 8mp camera. No one here can deny that the droid camera is less than spectacular unless your object is still and well lit.

I told my mom that I would buy her a Droid for Mother's Day, and she was excited. Until she spoke to a VZW person on the phone, and they told her she would rather have the Incredible. So now I am buying my mother an Incredible for Mother's Day. I'm sad that she doesn't want the Droid, but excited to get a chance to check out the Incredible and see just what all the fuss is about!
