Gear Fit 2 battery drain

Anyone has this issue? I lose about 5% in under 10 minutes right after the charge. I did some research and found that force stopping and clearing cache for 3 following apps (GearFitPlugin, Samsung Gear and S Health) and then rebooting Fit2 seems to make it stop. However after charge I start loosing battery right away. Is there a way to fix it? It doesn't seems like a hardware issue, more software. I have most up to date versions of software.

Thanks
P.

I was just about to ask others about this. Having battery drain issues since the last update. Restart seems to help for a while but then I experience it again later. Hmm... 🤔 I'm not even actively syncing with my phone. Have everything like Bluetooth and WiFi off and I still get the drain.

I have location and wifi off, bt is on. Again after stopping and clearing cache for those 3 apps, i easily get 2 days with regular use. Just last night, i charged it up right before i went to sleep and after taking it off the charger, 5% in under 10 minutes. Did the stop/clear cache trick, seems to fix the drain. But i don't want a product that i have to look after to make sure it's not draining :/

Intersting, I posted this over on XDA:

Just received an update for my Gear Fit 2 today. and the battery is about to die after less than 6 hours of usage other than overnight sleep. And by usage, I mean strapped to my wrist as I drove to work, walked up 2 flights of stairs, and sat at desk for a few hours. Typically I wear the device for about 14-16 hours a day, throw it on the charger for about an hour and a half before I go to bed to top it off (usually about 70% or so when I put it on the charger). It will have 100% charge when I go to bed, and in the morning will be around 97% or so, falling to around 70% by about 22:00.

Has anyone else received this update and had any battery issues? I realize the update process would have likely used a few %, but my Fit2 is literally at 8% and it's not even noon yet. I was shocked when I got the alert to turn on power saving. Hoping this is an isolated glitch and will be OK tomorrow after I charge this bad boy back up.

As a follow-up, in a half hour, while on power saving, it went from 8% to 0 and shut off.

What firmware version is on your devices currently?
Mine is with BPG3, I was reading that this new update is BPK5, but I am still waiting for it. Could be that they found it was causing issues and stopped it
Also, this fast drop to 95% could be battery or measurement issue, not really SW one...

I'm having the same issue all of a sudden today I get an alert to put my gear in to power saving mode. My gear has never gotten to 15% in just six hours of usage. I usually get two days usage.

So I charged it again midday and now got the alert again at 10pm. Something is wrong, and I noticed it since the last update I did a couple of days ago.

I'm on BPK6 version

Could it be due to a mobile, and a bt connection? What phone are you using?

Also, what additional apps are installed?
I'm only connected via Bluetooth to my Google pixel. I used to have it connected to my s7 edge but got the pixel last week.

What do you mean additional apps? I feel that my battery on the phone would drain as well and that's not the case

I meant related to additional tizen apps, not coming by default with the fit...

What you're saying that it would cause drain worth the phone too...perhaps, but would you notice it, as it's comparison of 3500 mAh vs 200mAh...

So, if I got you right, you haven't had drain with the S7E?
If you haven't, than it's up to phone, or the update and the phone (as I don't have the drain), if you had the drain with S7E and the old firmware, then most probably you have a faulty device, and you should have it replaced...

Well, I'm on BPK6, and after the initial fast drain and shut off, I'm on my third "normal" day battery wise, so it must have just been some glitch right after the update.

Same thing here. Everything was running smoothly UNTIL last update which was a few days ago. I have BPK6 version and since the last update I go to sleep with 50% battery and wake up in the morning after 6 hours of sleep with fit2 shut down. When I push the button to start fit2 shows battery 2% and message to go on energy saving mode!!! Tried to restore to factory settings and with NO connection with the S7 edge, and works fine. When I connect it with the phone, gets the update without asking me and starts to drain the battery all over again. So the problem is software. That's for sure. And specifically, the last update from Samsung. What are they doing over there? I have seen too many people having the same problem after the last update. Why don't they make an announcement and acknowledge the problem so that we all can hope for a reliable update to the problem? Has anyone found a solution to connect the fit2 with the phone, bypassing the last update? Thanks everybody.

Guys, can you pair your GF2 with some other phone, and test if it ain't due to a bt connection?
I am using it with my MiMax and getting regular 3+ days of battery, with the newest SW...

Update I just factory reseted my gear fit 2 and now it seems to be working fine.
My battery is back to lasting me 2 to 3 days

I fixed the battery drain problem I was having by simply keeping my Gear Fit 2 powered on always, even when charging. First I force stopped Gear Fit Plugin, Samsung Gear, & S Health. Then I restarted both my phone & gear fit 2. I haven't had any problems since I now always leave it on. I hope this helps everyone.
