gear neo steps to distance?

hi guys,

i have just got myself a gear neo. all is good except accuracy. for example it says i took 3016 steps, and just below it shows 7.16 miles. how on earth is that possible? first off i havent walked that much, maybe just over a mile the whole day. and secondly i used a couple dofferent websites that convert steps to distance and they both come up with just over a mile. so how does the gear come up with 7.16 miles???

Try to change your length: go to settings, profile on your Gear. Your length is used to calculate the distance.

i really dont think its that, i have everything set up correctly. tofay for example it says ive taken 4084 steps, and walked 23.36 miles. its absolute bull
