My gear s use to calculate my distance/calorie while running on indoor machine, but this I went for real outside run and let the GPS calculate the distance. Now I am back at the gym and 2nd time is not giving me a estimate of distance/cal. Anyway to fix this without a reset. I alway use to choose location off while running on machine.

I have a treadmill and to get an accurate measurement I put the Gear S in my pocket especially if I am hanging on to the railings. In Colorado, because of the very low humidity, the belt works like a van de graaff generator. If I don't hang on to the rails, I get charged up and sparks fly off me to the rails anyway, kind of smarts and is a bit startling. I have had sparks very near my Gear S so it is safer in the pocket, seems pretty accurate that way too.

Have you ever gotten distance on the elpitical?

I'm kind of thought the jarring of the foot hitting the floor is what counted each step.

I also thought that's how they were counted. I've held my wrist up and watched it count my steps am it was right on the money with every step I've taken

Is not 100% but it count it. I guess it go by hand movement and heart rate.

Had to reset it to get back to normal, now is counting again.
