I had that issue when I first got my watch. Some reason it is a power supply issue. If you charge your watch via wall outlet and the charger, switch it to your computer via the USB port. It takes longer to charge but seems to resolve the issues. Once you charge it once full from the computer, you can move it back to the wall with no problem

All of these people are reporting this as a quick change that has happened without any changes. So this is not a demand issue but most likely a software/firmware upgrade issue. Disabling options that the watch was made to do is not the solution in this case. It may be a stop gap but they need to fix the update just completed.

What Samsung is doing is ridiculous. I have one. Gear S2 classic and one gear S2 for Oct a year. They both worked great until this lousy Nougat update came along and now instead of getting 20-24 hours on a charge Like most reports, I get 4-5 hours at best. I paid over $650 in these watches that are now useless. It looks like Samsung doesn't give a dam about our expressed concerns as this should have been fixed weeks ago. I hope that Samsung is monitoring this thread, as I want them to know that if this is not fixed in the next 4 weeks. I am prepared to take it to my attorney and take legal action against them. In that case I will invite anyone who wish to join in a class action suit. This careless attitude from a company that had a major set back with the exploding batteries not to long ago is shocking and can't be tolerated when all we all for is a simple fix to their software that only worried about their knee product the gear S3 ,and telling their many thousands of clients who paid good money for the S2 only a year ago to go to hell.

Do you really want to make a stupid gadget a major focal point of your life? If it's not working for you, just sell it and move on. Life's too short for such drivel. Go make babies, or find a cure for cancer, climb Mount Everest, feed the hungry, do something that brings you joy. Unless you're Perry Mason, a class action lawsuit isn't likely to be it.

It is very unfortunate that you take such a passive approach to a serious symbolic neglect of consumers rights from a company as large as Samsung. Instead of trying to stand for what's right, you get your satisfaction by attacking with sarcastic comments. If everyone took your attitude of why should I bother and 'Go make babies', 'life is too short'... None of the consumer protection laws that are on the books would have never existed.
Luckily, there are enough people who are driven by standing behind principles of fighting for what's right, rather than the complacent attitude of let it go since it has no big effect on me, who have made this world a better place for all of us.

hi, if you have still not found a solution. i may of found it. after trying several things including deleting all my watch faces and apps the battery was still draining, after taking it off the charger i could literally see the battery draining. but after completely disabling Samsung health it seems to have done the trick. literally after 4 hours it as only gone down 5% compared to 70%. i disabled all notifications on the phone app, then also on the phone go to manage items and switch everything off. then on the s health app on the watch. swipe through to settings and turn off all health nudges, the go to workout detection and then again turn them all off.
I'm pretty sure that was the problem.

I'll check back after a day or so to see if it truly worked but for now it's def working.

i have the same issue and it started about a week ago. I just turned off Samsung health notificaitons on boht the phone and watch so we'll see. seems like a dumb solution.. not certain why Samsung is not weighing in on this...must assume this product is not important to them...

I am having a similar issue with my Gear S2. I am using mine with my Pixel XL and recently I have noticed I will go to use the watch and the screen is black so I will restart the watch and it will work fine and still be at about 75% battery. But something is locking the watch up completely. Now just today I took the watch off of the charger this morning at 9:45 and now it is completely dead at 1% and it was locked up and shut off because of it. I am going to try to shut off the S Health stuff tomorrow.

Just turning off the notifications from the Samsung Health app solved the problem for me.

I had this problem since I had to reset my Gear S2 and the Samsung Health notifications were obviously activated by default.

I've tried disabling shealth notifications on my watch but I couldn't find where? Is that under settings, Health tips? Or is it workout detection? Do I have to turn them all off?

What about the phone? Where do I turn those notifications off? In Shealth app or samsung gear app?

My gear s2 battery is only holding up a single day ( from 12am till 10 pm )....

Any suggestions on what to do?
