GEAR S3 Classic LTE won't give me a sync code

I had to change my watch phone number because I kept receiving dozens of spam calls & texts every day. Now when I try to get a sync code to activate Number sync, the blue circle just keeps scrolling on getting sync code. I can connect via Bluetooth (and I can use it that way) but the Number sync is now useless. Prior to the number change I had no issues whatsoever with activating numbersync. I've tried completely resetting the watch and clearing the gear app cache but nothing works. It just gets stuck on the sync code. Does it need repair? I've only had this watch since September 22nd, so I'm past the 14 day return and I'm really upset it looks like I'll end up with a refurbished watch. Any thoughts?

I assume you are on ATT. I had an issue activating Numbersync because my unlocked Note 8 IMEI wasn't listed properly. The ATT store rep fixed ii in no time. I know we all make fun of the store people, but sometimes they really do know what they are doing. Take it to the ATT store.
 
Similar issues here.. i have an unlocked s8.. managed to firmware update it, got hd voice working.. wifi calling wasnt.. went to store.. swapped out sim card.. then numbersync allowed me to enter the code finally on the webpage.. however.. callerid is broken and it technically didnt work (calls show the watch phone number).. i tried to deactivate from the watch then reactivate.. and i too get the spinning "getting code" message.. no prompt for the page on the phone.
