GEAR S3 -- emails/text messages don't work.

Just bought a Gear S3.
Looks amazing. Aftedr many many tries, finally got one email to pop up (with notification)..only once.
Never received any text messages. Anything special to do for the Nexus 6P to work with GEAR S3???
Any help?

Not to sound redundant but I assume you have the Samsung Gear app installed and set up, etc?

Yep. notifications arte all on. I am now receiving emails ok. But never gotten any SMS texts.

I now get email and text notifications. but can't reply to any of them. when you hit 'reply' it says look at your phone. My friend as a samsung cell and he can reply. So looks like that confirms the 'reply' fucntionnality for non samsung phones.

I can reply to everything from mine.

Some have said that you need to have Android Wear app installed as well. Not sure if that's true or not, but I do have it since I also have a Huawei Watch I no longer use. Maybe that's why replies work for me?
