I am thinking about leaving the S8+ for the V30. I have the Gear S3 Frontier. Does anyone use this combo? If so, how well do they work together?

I used it for a few days before returning the V30. Works pretty good. No complaints.

I went from S8+ to V30 with Gear S3 classic... No issues. I don't want Samsung pay installed on phone anyhow. Like it much better solely through gear app.

Good to know...as I have the v30 as my secondary phone...and I have a spare Gear s3 Frontier....

I'm using a S2 Classic, and it works great.. Just don't block the persistent Gear notification in an attempt to clean up the notification bar - that makes the BT connection flaky as hell and a reset of the watch (and reinstall of the services) are required to remedy it.. (Don't ask me how I know!)

I'll miss Samsung Pay's MST as there are still some non-NFC credit card terminals around here, but I don't miss my S7!

Is there an email app for the V30 that will show the emails on the Gear 3? The same question for text apps.
The stock texting app works but would prefer to keep using textra.

Yes, the stock LG email app and text app will show the messages. You can reply from the notifications as well. Only downside is that the inbox on the watch does not reflect any message history since its not a Samsung phone. In other words, you have to reply from the original notification; once dismissed its no longer on the watch. Hope this helps!

Everything works fine though between the two.

I have an ATT Samsung Gear S3 Frontier watch and the LG V30 on T-Mobile. They are both GSM technology carriers and I've had the watch unlocked by ATT. Does anyone know how to add the watch to the Tmobile network using the embedded sim? I have stumped the Tmobile people but they say it should work.

Thanks. I did get it running even with Inbox for email and Textra. They show in notifications, but as you mentioned once I dismiss them it’s gone from the watch.

Should I be getting text messages when the watch is in standalone mode? I’m on Verizon. I’m going to assume I was not get email in stand-alone mode since I don’t see any way the watch knows my email.
