Gear S3 on Galaxy S9+, bluetooth issue.

Third day with Galaxy S9+. Lost digital communication with Gear. Checking settings I see that bluetooth message says it is connected for voice with the phone only. The Gear app failed to check the gear watch for firmware saying it could not communicate.

Hmmm. Is this unique, an Oreo issue, or a malfunction?
 
It's not a Oreo issue , Connected Mind to a couple phones with Oreo
 
I'm assuming you've tried already and have no idea if it will make a difference, but if you haven't tried, first thing I'd do is reset the connection, connect the S3 to a new device and tell the Gear app to forget the watch. Then clear the cache on the Gear app before reconnecting.
 
Just set mine up yesterday and I actually have better connectivity than I did with my S8.
