Gear VR Promotion Success/Failure Thread: please post whether you are successful ...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around why BrightPoint can't get it straight that the box for the VR is larger than the box for the S2? If your only job is to ship the packages, how bad at your job do you have to be to ship out the wrong packages?....over & over & over & over again....
 
I submitted for the Gear S2 promotion through Verizon on their website on March 12th. Got the same runaround about the location code and was sent a Gear VR instead. Went through the same nightmare everyone else is going through. No need to write as lengthy novel in that respect, as you all understand the headache it's been. But, there is an easy solution that will spare all of you the trouble and wasted time trying to claim the prize that is rightfully yours, provided you properly jumped through all of the hoops to begin with. Ready for it? File a report with the Better Business Bureau against Samsung, Verizon and PrizeLogic. I did just that on Wednesday, June 8th, and had my watch on my wrist last Monday the 13th. Verizon was actually the company that settled with me. PrizeLogic agreed to send me a watch provided that I send them back the VR. And Samsung? Well they put the blame on PrizeLogic. I think all of you that have gone through the process proprly and have not received your prize should do it this way. Big corporations need to be held accountable, and they really hate negative remarks on their business rating. Good luck to all of you. I'm keeping the VR for all the wasted hours I spent dealing with them. Good on ya Verizon for stepping up!

Verizon has settled with me also, my VR's should arrive there tomorrow and then they are sending out my watches. I was just wondering if your watches were Bluetooth or 3G. I'm hoping for 3G.

Not only are the sizes different so is the shape. Insanity.

It's off to work I go to wait on pins & needles (that I don't have a VR in the box) for Wednesday. I called Fedex since my pkg had been picked up at BrightPoint, but no further updates. The lady confirmed that Fedex (Home Delivery) does NOT deliver on Mondays (she said they were closed on Mondays) and that I was definitely scheduled for a Wed delivery. I'm guessing that also means no new shipment details today for those who are still waiting. :(
 
Ah! I'm thinking it's because of how long this has gone on, but I'm sure that time is moving slower now that it's almost over!

I had to send back my S2 watch. As I stated before, when I received them the box the watch was in was not sealed and the protective plastic covering looked like it had been put back on. One of the watches (mine) did not work correctly, many problems. So they sent me a shipping label to send it back to brightpoint and now I wait until they send me a new one. I did put in a complaint to BBB against Samsung that they sent me used watches. I hope it does not take another 3 months to get it replaced.
 
Always amazes me how quiet it gets on the weekends here.

I suspect there are two reasons.

1. A lot of people are finally getting their watches, and have no reason to really be active on the forum anymore.

2. A lot of people had this forum as part of their workday routine, on the weekends people often are not on their Computers or if they are, their priorities are often different.

I still have FDM and the Samsung Promotion page saved in my frequently visited sites....I'll have to fix that.

Glad to see movement for a lot of people, insane that they are *still* messing up orders....

So, PL just emailed me regarding my BBB complaint and SHOCKER....
We would like to apologize for the delay. As PrizeLogic is not affiliated with the fulfillment company, nor do we control the inventory they received, there have been some delays in receiving devices. Your receipts showed that your purchase was not at a qualifying online or telesales location, which is why you received the VRs. We have requested the fulfillment vendor to expedite your replacement shipments, and will provide you with the tracking numbers as soon as they are provided to us.

I'm responding by calling their bullsh*t as, outside of the mass email that was sent (incorrectly according to someone I talked to AT prizelogic), this was the FIRST time anyone has ever mentioned a) my location code being wrong and b) I was supposed to be receiving anything other than Gear S2's... If something screwed up causing me to get the wrong items then fine, tell me that. Mistakes happen, I can accept that. But don't make some bullsh*t excuse that I have documentation via chat transcripts and voicemails that directly refute it like I'm some naive effing moron... If my location code were wrong (which is impossible because I bought directly from vzw.com, as in typed "vzw.com" in my browser to get there) then why would NOBODY I talked to at PL over the course of 3 months say anything about it?? That dang response got me more upset than actually getting the wrong item!...

your gettimg vrs instead of your watches? they really suck at their job

I imagine the paperwork the warehouse workers at the IN Brightpoint facility probably have a big 24pnt bold "Free Gear VR Promotion" at the top of the page. Only lower down does it say that its not a VR but actually a gear S2.

Apparently they weren't happy with my long winded complaint because you got a much nicer response... lol
 
And reply sent, can't take back anything I was going to say now. lol. Hopefully the person is professional enough to understand that my words are not an attack or insult to them but instead to the company they work for. They obviously had no hand in all of this (aside from spewing that location code nonsense at me) and I tried to make that clear. Just like I don't insult the people making my food, I don't want to insult the person that can get me my watch. haha.
 
Well, now isn't this interesting....when I called fedex this morning, the system initially told me there were 2 shipments with my same tracking number. 'seemed odd, but I know they sometimes reuse numbers, but the odd thing about this one is....it's a shipment from BrightPoint. Only, it didn't come to me, it went to WA. So, I've been waiting for all this time, & that shipment could have come to me the 1st of April? I'm thinking BrightPoint is as screwed up, or more, than PrizeLogic. For those who received what you were supposed to get & in a timely manner, thank your lucky star!

Update:

(I purchased my S7 Edge in a T-Mo store on 6/21, day after the Gear VR promo for them ended... but was still advertised in-store with expired signage, & avail at tmobile.com & then extended to 6/26 on Sammy's website the same day, or earlier ---- was rejected same day after submitting for "not within retailer timeline)

I called Samsung on Saturday... wish I realized they are open 24 hours 7 days a week, would've called earlier in the 12am-6am hours (nightshift problems)...

Anyway, they just needed my name/email/phone number & quickly pulled up my submission & verified the date is indeed valid, as 6/21 occurs before 6/26. They said they'd send it off for verification to the next tier & I'd hear back via phone/email in 24-48 business hours. I chose email. I just realized today is a business day, nothing yet, but obviously I called on Saturday which doesn't help.

Anyway, I look forward to playing the endgame aka shipping issues with the rest of y'all very soon!

My tracking number is the same way except it went to TN was on the 2nd and was 1.4 lbs.

Well looks like fedex changed delivery date. Left the hub on its way to my center and then date changes. Hopefully just a glitch.
