Gear VR registration/approval/shipping/arrival info & also problems.

I just got approved for the free vr and remote. Hopefully when they ship it I'll have found someone to buy it. My nephew has last year's vr am I able to give him the $50 ocolus content?
 
Haha, I was approved on the 25th and JUST received the email as well

Their system must be catching up on the approval emails tonight. Mine was approved on the 27th, and the approval email just arrived here a couple minutes ago, too.

Ok this is NUTS...In Samsung promotions I am showing as "Gift sent" for over a week. That is for the free set. Then last Friday I followed the link in an email and BOUGHT the $99 one. That total was something like $108 and change. That charge shows as pending in my AMEX for the whole week. My Samsung support account shows NO orders for me at all of either kind. My AMEX paid order has an order number that shows on some other website as paid but no data about shipping or anything else. I sat on phone hold one day for 52 minutes while doing other work and finally gave up.

To top it all off my FedEx delivery manager says I have to try again in 30 days to either add my new address or change my old address.

Why call the act of pissing off your customers a "promotion"? I wish I could just go to the store and buy the damned thing.


This all also have nothing to do with the 6 to 8 weeks. That's all fine. It is more about all the instances of telling me one thing and doing another thing. It's crazy... It feels like no one from Samsung has ever done any of this themselves.
 
My status in the shop Samsung app shows under review and I just got a shipped email w/tracking number and a scheduled deliver date of tommorow!

Update Saturday. I just got FedEx tracking for Tuesday delivery on the paid one. We'll see about the free one that also says "Gift sent" for a week.

Glad too see someone say "They Love it!" I sometimes feel as though people "Under-hype" this Incredible Revolutionary Device! It's not just the Plastic Gear VR itself. Lot's of hard work and effort went into the Software Development and special hardware / software that allows the Gear VR itself to detect the phone and pair it together flawlessly! No Gimmicky "Trade-show-Open Source Hacked together" Device! They did a great Job over at Oculus making things as open as they can to Developers, whilst maintaining a degree of "Proprietary" especially through their Oculus Store, which ensures each and every application for Gear VR is a quality made app by well qualified publishers / developers, instead of having to find apps through Google play, half of which are broken, buggy nightmares, whilst the rest are nefarious Malicious Adware Virus Apps that constantly spam you Notifications and ask for in app purchases!
 
What Facebook provided Oculus with their purchase of the Company was INCredicble content in a streamlined Oculus Dedicated Store! If they hand't had that going for them, Oculus wouldn't have gone that far and VR would perhaps have died again! Have you guys tried "Zen-Pinball" VR yet for your Gear VR? It's called "Pinball FX2" which is their VR version of their Pinball Tables! I remember getting it for PS3 with a 3D tv and playing the 3D version of their tables, then I got a 3DS and I could play them in 3D on the go, but now I can take it a step further and play those Pinball Tables in Mobile Virtual Reality!!
 
I received my fully immersive box yesterday and let me say - I have the Gear VR for the GS6 also the GS7, and this newest one is the first one that fits my big fat head without feeling like the goggles are being smashed into my face. Finally straps that are longer and also a more comfortable feel of the goggles on my face. So far I like it - the controller is great.

I never go the Note 7 version since I opted for the other goodies, so not sure if it is the same.
 
Still no "Gift-Sent" yet and the "Check gift-Status" thing is still on "processing-gift" I got a bit excited to see another email sent this past Thursday on the 4th of May, even though it was just another "You've been AProved" email, which I had hoped was the Tracking email with a confirmation of delivery, nonetheless, when I first got the "you've been approved" email back the 26th of April, nearly 2 weeks ago, and it went from "Waiting-for-aproval" to "Processing gift" I had hoped shortly back then I'd get the tracking email, so now on the 4th getting that email, despite it not being the tracking, I coulda swore at least it meant they'd ship it any day now, since at least it's the 1st email I've gotten showing any sort of progress these past 13 some days now!! *sigh* now I'm back to wondering when or if it'll ever ship out before the "6-8" weeks, what's even worse now, is that in that email they just sent this past Thursday that just said, yet again, "You've been aproved" they also said "please wait 6-8 weeks for your gift to ship" which might mean the 6-8 week countdown timer just started! That means I could possibly be waiting until July 2 to get this damn thing!! I'm gonna just buy the Gear VR, Screw this Promotion! Samsung get your S**t together! They need their promotions department better planned, efficient, and definitely have the full stock of 350,000 in a warehouse ready to ship at the day of launch! How can they say units were on back order? Why did they not stock enough of these before the promotion began?
 
Folks who have already received their Gear VR, congrats! I'm still waiting and my status has yet to change from "Approved." I'm going to call today to see what's going on and to make sure everything is ok.

Got mine today. Left a signed note on the door for FedEx to leave it because nobody was home this morning and they left it as instructed.
 
Submitted on the April 21 in the evening and they were already sold out of the experience so registered for the VR Both the wife and I. Was told we were outside the time frame as the receipt was dated Apr 21. Submitted out pre order receipt from best buy and was approve on April 27. No shipping date. Still waiting. This is so typical of Samsung promotions.

I'm wondering if they ran out of product and are in the process of replenishing stock. I'm in the same boat. I wasn't approved initially because it was done around the 21st and within a couple hours, I was approved. Still haven't received any updates since receiving the approval. Wish they would at least keep you in the loop on your promotion.
