Gear Watch Designer question

Yeah, I can load the faces from Gear Projects, no problem, and he has some beautiful work. The hard part is figuring out the finer points of GWD. I've been through the Samsung tutorial a couple of times, but I still run into questions that aren't covered there. I'll get it, just need a few more Eureka moments...

Well, this morning I booted up and opened up the project I've been putting the final touches on, only to be greeted by a watch face full of gibberish. No discernible pattern to it at all, except for the .jpg logo that I'd used. Couldn't get it to open with anything but that, so I deleted the project and started over. After adding a few components, it turned to gibberish again.

Uninstalled/reinstalled the program and was able to rebuild the project, but now I'm getting program error messages when I try to load to the watch. Think I'll let it sit for a while and let my patience rebuild itself...

The program is back to working like it used to, today. Tomorrow? Who knows. The only explanation I can think of is that it's beta and buggy.

Anyway, here's my first attempt, and it's still a work in progress. I've got it set to open the weather app by tapping the logo. Will probably turn that into a complication when it becomes available.

And, a nod of thanks to the folks at watchawear.com, for the hands.

GWD is very buggy on Windows 10. However, in the last few days I have been able to get some faces to my watch. It seems to have a lag time that I need to account for.
Also, make sure the Author and Distributor Certificates are signed in.
You will need to enter your Author AND Distributor certificates EVERY time you open Gear Watch Designer in order to successfully install watch faces.
I personally avoid using the "run on device" button in GWD. It likes to freeze and sometimes doesn't even bother to work.
This face installation guide was a great help. Gear Watch Designer Face Installation Guide | Samsung Gear S2

Hey Mike, nice to see you around here! I stopped by your site the other day and it looked like it requires registration to access most of it now. What's up with that?

Mike, your video is the one that finally gave me the "ah ha" moment. I love your site. Thanks so much.
