"Get package info failed", can't boot phone

My p20 pro updated, and seemingly went tits up. The phone boots up with "Devce has failed verification". It will then boot into Huawei's recovery mode. Trying to "update and recover" fails to download the update with the message "Get package info failed". Factory reset doesn't work either.

Anyone any clue on how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Was this system update pushed to the phone over-the-air, or did you download it manually from some website and try to install it that way?

What happens if you go to that link (under "To Learn More")? Or did you already try the options there?

Your probably going have to flash the stock firmware with the MSM tool or SP splash tool, check with XDA site

The link in the first screenshot is dead. Suspect it needs reflashing but not confident doing that myself so probably take to a phone shop and let them do it rather than fully brick it
