apple has used and uses its leading market position and brand name to negotiate with and intimidate carriers: no bloatware - my price - my timely updates.

It's not accurate because I have the 64 gig iPhone 5. I never mentioned cost and performance has more to do with how fast can I get things done and the iPhone has no bottlenecks in this regard.

But that's not the point. Android phones are lousy with crap. It's sad.

It's quite easy to disable bloatware if you don't want to root the phone. If you root the phone, you can get rid of the bloatware, and voila, no longer lousy with crap. The amount of bloatware on the average Android phone doesn't really take up that much storage. Doesn't make me sad at all.

The T-Mobile apps on my phone are all 1mb files. The biggest is 10mb. Just disabled everything.

IIRC, the 64GB iPhones have always been $400 on contract and the HTC One, even at 64GB has never cost that much. So how can your iPhone cost the same price? Everything I've said has been 100% accurate. The One has more storage and a larger screen for less money and is about as fast as an iPhone 5.

i had a folder named "apple" with all their crap inside I could not delete - or hide (and I did not use nor had any intention of using). and for the record, i am not the first or only one who feels this way.

1. Game Center - I have no need to be looking at the game ranks of bots and/or cheaters / exploiters. If P2P gameplay actually worked or if it would store my games' progress in it it could be useful, but it does neither of that.

2. Maps - I use Google Maps. Why do I need to have this crap on my phone? And default for life at that.

3. Music - Thank you, but no. I had my own music app from the appstore not this poor excuse for one.

4. Safari - I use Chrome. Have no need for this polluting my screen.

5. Stocks - Why do I want this again?

6. Voice Memos - I don't think so.

7. Weather - I have a proper weather app from the store. Don't have a use for this.

8. Passbook - Does this actually work?

9. Newstand - LOL.

10. Calculator - A joke of a calculator.

11. Compass - If its not in a Map app, its just useless and taking valuable space.

It's all good Alex to not like something. I tried iPhones and then came to Android awhile ago and haven't looked back. For ME Android is just better and I like it more... But doesn't mean iOS is awful for all... Just means it's awful for me. My parents use it and i'd rather they did anyway lol. My Mom still thinks Face Time is like some government technology lol.

A little bloatware from the manufacturer I can deal with. Any carrier bloat drives me nuts. I recently joined sprint when I dropped AT&T & my iPhone for a One (free move, had to take it). These sprint apps make me nuts. A month ago I got a popup that said Sprint Zone needed to update. There was no option to decline. I accepted, and bam- all my settings/icon layouts etc... were gone. So annoying.
