Get unlimited data on ungrandfathered lines!

  • Talked to a Verizon rep who was a member of another forum I belong to. I do trust this person. they looked into my account but couldn't add the unlimited data because too much time elapsed since I had it fall off. This person however has not tried the hotspot item yet.
  • Talked to another verizon rep of same forum, they were an independent authorized Vzn dealer, so don't have control over the systems, but reached out to someone who looked into my account...referenced the same 14 day elapsed period. If you have unlimited, and drop it..you have 14 days to get it back on. In my case, over a year elapsed. He is looking into talking to another person who might have authority to add the feature #/id method.
  • Called last night, asked about hotspot feature...said all they had was the bundled one.
  • Called today, but instead of hotspot asked if I could simply get my unlimited BACK since I have been with Verizon for 10+ years, given them probably $13k in those 10 years, and used to have the unlimited data. Got the same 14 day grace period response.

I will update once I hear anything.

I'd try the hotspot feature again late at night, providing them with the code if you can. It really depends on who you get. I hope they are not being advised against this or I'm gonna kick myself for waiting to join.

they know about it..I am quite sure. Now..maybe as much as they don't want to offer people unlimited..maybe this is there only way to have a backdoor for GIVING people unlmited in very unique scenarios..and its simply been exposed.

my question still is... is it unusual for a customer to EVER know a specific Feature id/number? does that raise a red flag the fact that I know it? what if they ask you how I know the number?

That's not their concern how you know it. If their feature ID's are splattered all over the internet then that's their problem. Obviously this is a glitch in their system so why can't people benefit from it? Obviously it won't last forever. Personally, I don't think a rep will question you and if they do, just say that you have a friend that works for VZW. That's all they need to know if that.

Is that feature number 76153?

Btw, did you say you were going to try tonight?

Yea I might, and yes that is the feature number. I have a guy who said he "will" try to add the feature for me tomorrow. Not sure if it matters what system he tries it from.

Well I'm gonna try tomorrow night once I sign up. I'll keep trying throughout my 14 days but if I can't get it then I'm not going with Verizon. There is no point to LTE if you're on a tiered plan.

Check with VZW to make sure, but I think you only have 3 days to cancel your VZW contract. The 14 days is for returning the phone for a refund.

No its 14 days including the contract.

Return Policy & Termination Fee | Verizon Wireless

But as far as the unlimited data goes, I guess its possible they advised reps not to add this feature anymore. For all we know an internal memo could have went out.

Correct. But if you cancel within 3 days (the "worry free guarantee" period) they also waive the activation fee and all you pay is a pro rated amount of what you have used so far, generally under$20.

Within 14 days you can cancel and the ETF will NOT apply.

talked to 1 of the guys I have been in contact with. The feature code # they tried to enter says its not valid.

:(

I have one other guy that is going to try to help me...if not, I will just do the 4gb double the data plan.

That article sounds like they might be changing accounts without the users consent..not sure if there are any legal aspects of that.

Hmmmmm, I guess its possible they removed the feature. Have you tried calling at night and then hanging up and trying again at least a couple of times?

here is what he responded with

"he is in crs and i'm in eroes. neither one worked"

I would keep trying. Call right now but perhaps don't give them the feature number. I would say, "I'd like to add a FEATURE to my account. Then tell them you want the Unlimited 4G MHS feature. If they say they can't add it, tell them your friend just had it added to their account so its possible.

I didn't think it was called the "UNLIMITED" 4g MHS", I thought it was 2gb or 4gb

3rd billing cycle with unlimited data and the "audit team" (ROFLMAO) are no where to be found!

Anyone have any luck recently getting unlimited data on a line?

I did 2 days ago on both our RAZR lines with unlimited data. And we have new service with Verizon as of Tuesday. :)
