Getting a Nexus 5X to use with Android Auto? READ THIS FIRST

Thanks for the reply.
My phone hasn't been linked to the head unit. I don't have another to try. The USB-A to USB-C cable I purchased from Google when I bought the 5X. I hope that cable is good. The cable I am questioning is the USB extension cable that the audio installer connected.

The issue was the USB extension cable was not connected to the USB2 port. Once connected to the correct port Android Auto started. Thank you for all of the help.
