getting a prompt to authenticate my email account saying that the password has been changed?

I keep getting a prompt on my LG G3 saying "Authentication Required. Password has been changed". My password has NOT been changed. My emails are not updating and it will not let me manually update either. when I do that I get this authentication message again. This has happened in the past but usually goes away but its not going away now.

Welcome to the forums!

Is this a Gmail account or an account you are using the email app with?

Which ever one it is, have you tried to go to a browser and log into it from the web?

I have had a similar experience. Except I could usually receive the emails, but not send. Never attempted pw changes, so suspected some fancy fishing attempt. I did not provide responses to those notifications.
It stopped happenning before I figured it out. But I would like to know what app sends that notification.

I got the same thing yesterday with LG g4. I changed my password with my mail server and it does not take it.
