Getting back to clock face

I am still learning the ins-and-outs of Google Wear and my watch. This may seem like a basic question but I am stymied as to the easiest way to get back to the watch face when you are in another function (like OK Google).

None of the swipe actions seem to do the trick and I am hoping someone has a suggestion.

You normally just swipe to the right to dismiss a screen. If you have an app that also uses that gesture, such as Wear Mini Launcher, make sure you're not starting at the very edge of the screen. Start in the middle and then swipe right.

BTW if all else fails, push the button on the side.
