Getting bored :(

Somehow, I'm getting bored with my beloved s4! A small part of me wants to switch back to the iPhone 5 (maybe that's because I got rid of my iPad Mini for the Galaxy Note 8.0). Normally when I get bored I scour Craigslist until I find a phone I want and I go trade. Well, I found someone with an iPhone 5, but I'm still unsure. I told myself I would keep it until I can upgrade again in March. I've had the s4 since July, I traded my HTC One for it. I also end up rooting a phone, but that's when they have an easy unroot method that I keep stored on my SD card. So far, I haven't found anything like this for the s4 so I won't root it yet.

Anyone else feel this way from time to time? What do you do to get out of a boredom stump? I've never kept a phone long enough to be bored lol.

I get that from time to time. I wish I had an iPhone 5 to switch with though, I still have my 4. iOS7 is installed and believe it or not runs pretty good on the old girl. I switch to that when I've had enough of my s4. It's pretty funny however, I push out quite a few emails from my phone and I'm still much much faster on my old iPhone4 than I am on this s4 with Swiftkey. I don't know what it is about that little compact design but I'm a machine on that keyboard, lol. There are some cool features on iOS7 but I wish I had at least the iPhone5 to see some of the newer features. So yes I know exactly where you are coming from. BTW, I'm rooted and running Hyperdrive as well as the GPE Rom here and there and I still get bored.

I switch launchers and keep it moving. Nothing like playing with a new launcher. Using easy home atm.

Man....I just go to mycolorscreen.com and find something I like and spend an hour or so setting it up. It's like having a new phone every month.

I've never even heard of this. I checked it out and I think I might be happy lol.

Everyone is different man. Both galaxy and iPhone are great devices.. If you can own both thats your best bet. Can get expensive phone jumping. Trust me I know. That is why I purchased both

Don't take this the wrong way but those that are never satisfied with things they have (whether it be phones, cars, laptops, shoes, or spouses) tend to be missing something from their lives. It's a phone. Buy one, use it, be greatful, and love your life.

I've found that it's in our nature to get bored with the same device after a while. We just can't help it lol

I actually think some people are harsh. All the OP was asking was how to not be bored with his phone. No need for psycho analysis.

To answer the OP, I too never kept a phone long enough to be bored (I flip phones all the time and am extremely happy in my life, just for the record). I try to change the theme and try new apps or games to try to appreciate the quality of the phone. If that still doesn't help, I then start looking at new phone.

I have every old game I had from ps1 and before...... boring is not how I feel about my s4

Train journey time now , gonna go play tekken 3 or theme hospital ! Have fun with angry birds if you switch !

I do love my life, and my problem is that I like technology and I want to play with different gadgets. I'm satisfied with the things I have... Just enjoy new things as well.

Try the moto x. I picked one up yesterday and trying it out. Just wanted to try out the touchless controls etc.

Do that and learn to use Tasker. Start emulating features found in other phones.

Having upgraded 24 times (since '09), I get bored but there's something about the S series I do not like. Not sure if it's Build/Design but I gave my S3 after just a month to my Mother and sold my S4 after 2-3 months.

I love Nova Launcher Prime and I do agree it helps keep things fresh. I spend hours customizing with HD Widgets, Simple Text and still I can't stand the S, the Note is different because of the S-Pen.

Agree with this. Black he just may not have the same interests as you.. I am sure there are things you like that I'd think was weird. .

I think that's the problem when there are so many devices around that are easily accessible. Reading about all these devices and coming to sites like this makes us lust after the ones we don't have. I like my S4 and want to keep it for at least a year. I've got 3 android devices and 3 iOS devices and that just about helps to keep me satisfied. I switch between them when I'm getting bored of the other OS.
