This may be a stupid question. But I'm stumped. Obviously with the S22 platform we lost removable storage on these devices. I'm wanting to copy about 30GBs of music to my 22 Ultra. What's the best/easiest way to go that? Like I said it's probably a stupid question. But I'm truly stumped.

Thanks

USB C cable and drag & drop to music folder on S22 using Windows Explorer is what I did.

So when I plug it in to my laptop, Windows should detect it as a drive? I tried that after Mustang said USB c and it didn't seem to work. But if it's supposed to, I'll try another cable.

And if so, should it be USB c to USB c? I think I was using USB A to C

Your phone has to be unlocked (that is, on any screen other than the lock screen), and the phone will ask you to give the PC access.

It may also be set to charge only. To change that, after connection to the PC, pull down from the top and you will see how the USB connection is used. You can change it to give it file (or media) access from there.

And the connection type doesn't matter, as long as each plug works.

I would also caution against copying all 30 GB at once. We've seen many posts about issues when transferring large amounts of data all at once over USB -- I think there's a greater chance of data error in this situation. I would suggest breaking it up into batches of maybe 4-5 GB at a time.

I had a lot of music on my SD card from my note 20. I also had same music backed up on my PC. So I use USB c connect phone unlocked, give permission and will see S22 ultra as drive drag and drop I to music folder on. Ultra. I did mine in like 3 batches. Everything transferred correctly

I had 33 gb of music I transfer to S22 ultra

I transferred my music files from my Note 20 SD card to my PC by using Samsungs Smart Switch. I then restored the music to my s22U using Smart Switch. I didn't have quite as much music so I restored it in one batch. My PC has an USB-c port so I was able to use an USB-c to USB-c cable.

It was a remarkably easy procedure.

I've been using the snapdrop app. It works really well. You download the app to your computer and phone and open both up. From the computer just drag and drop. I've only tried to move 10 items at I time. I wouldn't try to move all 32 gb of music at one time .

And send anywhere is a good option as well.
