Getting frustrated with my Inc

There's no way that 4 phones all do the exact same thing. Try using a different memory card, one that doesn't have any Android data. My guess is that your memory card has some bad Maps data stored on it... Try using a brand new one if you can, one with nothing on it. Pop it in and scroll around in Maps and let us know..

Apparently his all DID. And yes itCAN happen. Just because you havent seen it doesnt mean it didnt happen...

I have made it fail w/o a SD card even installed. Also, once it gets in the reboot loop, the battery must be pulled for at least 10 minutes (a quick pull is not enough). Sounds like heat to me.

Since these are all refurbs, they were all returned for some reason. Verizon is obviously not checking them very well before sending them back out (the camera in the 3rd phone didn't work).

For the first few months my first phone worked great. Used GPS for hours on end with no problems. Then it started going down hill.

I agree that it should probably be worded "seems unlikely" that 4 would have the same problem. Trying the new microSD card sounds like a good idea since it probably is the same card. He could try turning off GPS for awhile since that is what seems to trigger it. Another may be to consider rooting and trying a different ROM (although I know it may not be great for warranty purposes). Mine has been running very well with Skyraider 3.5 but I know that's not for everyone.

I had a similar experience--GPS worked great for a few months...but then rebooted every time I used it. The VZW tech told me that he had seen this happen when the phone got wet. That was a non-issue for me...unless dampness or humidity was a contributing factor. Anyway, the GPS in the replacement (just my second device, albeit a refurb) is working fine.

I purchased my INC when it first came out and all was fine untill I updated it to the last update afte the initial froyo update. I now can not stop if from random rebooting. I thought it may have been the battery because I used a bigger battery I bought from sedido. I used the stock battery and still does it. I can be doing anything sending txts, surfing the net. It will reboot and then be fine. I do notice that the screen gets hot and so does the back of the phone. So that might be an issue. I have the screen brightness down to the dimmest setting. This frustrates me too cause I have done countless factory resets and still does the same crap. I even tried to root it to see if it would stop but still wont stop rebooting. All I can say is i am getting to my wits end with the phone. I can barely use it. I mean when I am able to use its awesome runs great fast but when it does those random reboots all hell breaks loose. Apps force close, screen jitters. I have no idea how to fix it and it looks like no one else has an idea either.

I understand the frustration. Need to get back into verizon to try for phone #5. Would be nice to get a new phone instead of these refurbs.

Verizon is losing a lot of money sending overnight fedex with return labels.

The current phone will reboot about 10% of the time after just a normal phone call.

IMHO their is a better possiblity of you hitting the lottery then getting 4 phones with all the same problem, i would have to rule that it is your lifestyle in combonation with your phone. i dont think heating issues would reboot the phone as i use mine HEAVILY to the point were i have to take it apart and put it in the firdge because it is so hot. as far as refurbs go, lets put it this way, the reseaon you have a refurb right now is because your BNIB Dinc had problems right? its kinda hard to believe that people would think a company just takes phones that have problems, ship them to a warehouse and just ship them back to a store lol. if i had any advice to you i would request a different model phone. obviously if 4 havent worked for you, when it works for millions of others, their is a compatibility issue there. Because from the souds of it you have done everything you could short of rooting(and maybe trying a rom with a different GPS setup). anyways, goodluck.

Like I said, for the first 3 months the 1st phone was perfect. No reboots at all with heavy use.

The refurbs are a whole other problem. Someone is obviously sending them back to VZ for some reason and they are not being checked well (the camera did not work at all on one).

In front of a VZ cs person I made a refurb panic 10 times in an hour. We were doing the same tests on his personal phone and it never failed.

VZ has agreed to replace with a new phone.
