Getting Google Now working

Anybody been able to get Google Now to work? I found the widget, and I added it to one of my homescreens, but I just get is the screen shown in my attachment where it just says "Get Google Now", and it doesn't do anything when I click on that grey box. Anyone gotten this to work?

is the google search app installed? Look for updates to the google search app on the Play Store

Hold down the home button and hit the Google button at the bottom. You have to opt in the first time you use it.

It started working once I got home. I'm thinking it might have been a wifi-vs-ota data issue.

I have it up, but it currently only shows weather in the widget. Anyway I can get it to always show traffic times (to home or work) all the time like the weather?

I'm not sure quite how to make it show all the time, but at least make sure it knows where your home and work are - looks like you can set that in Google Now settings, then My Stuff, then Places.
