I just got one while typing this!

google.com.process.gapps.com or something similar. It is definitely something like gapps or googleapps.

Anyone get this or know how to stop it?

Sent from my Galaxy Tab 10.1

I just checked in here because of the same problem. Random FC's on a regular basis. Facebook, Words, K9 and the few other apps I use. It's getting very frustrating.

Did you get the "stability" update? Just asking. I had one of those tabs, but took it back because of the FC's. Mine were from the get-go.

I've noticed this as well recently.
I've been getting a lot of the forces closes a lot recently myself - most recently beginning yesterday. Only when using the browser though and I am getting similar messages to PaulQ mentioned. Its getting to be pretty frustrating.

If it's any consolation, and in case anyone is thinking of running to another tab, all of the ones with Honeycomb 3.1 do it a lot. I grabbed up a Toshiba on Sunday, and was waiting in line to return it Monday morning when they opened. Same with the Asus. The only tab I'd consider keeping would be the HTC Flyer, and it is on Gingerbread. I have a laptop, Nook Color, and an Evo, so I really have no need for a tab...

Same here. Started getting the same google.com process force close as described by the op. I did a factory reset and so far so good. Now it seems it wasn't just me and a factory reset may have been overkill. I wonder what happened in the tab world for this to start now.

As.far as I know, the stability update were for those tabs from the best buy one day special in new York

FYI.... I did a full factory reset which, unintentionally, included erasing the "SD" storage. I spent a couple hours setting things back up.

The FC's have not been occurring nearly as often. So far, I think I can say that the reset helped clear the problem - not entirely.

One caveat ... I lost the ability to sync bookmarks in the process. I guess fewer FC's is worth it.

I have just began getting this problem today. Last thing I did was update apps from the market and use the browser. It is getting frustrating.

started getting it yesterday, but most likely because i manually killed some running services (Factory Test) that i thought was not needed. i shut it down and restarted, left everything running as-is in the background, and all is good so far. for those having fc issues, are you running any task managers or have manually killed any running services?

I had an issue with the nook app yesterday, it FC'ed several times in a row. I tried stopping it through the settings menu but it didn't solve the issue.

I cycled the power as a part of the troubleshooting process and that took care of the issue for me. Other than that issue all apps have been running smoothly.

I suddenly started getting this problem as well: FC - google.com.process.gapps.com. I contacted Samsung Tech Support and they suggested a factory reset, which has seemed to resolve the issue. I am puzzled why this started to happen. I can only think it was due to an app update. BTW, the Facebook app has completely disappeared from the App Store. So, now I am using Friend Me, which seems to be ok, but the free version has ads.

I did the factory reset (like I mentioned a few posts up) and as of today, some of the FC's are returning. :(

And, yes, Facebook disappeared for me too. I found the apk by searching the web and manually installing it. Look for "Android Facebook 1.6.1". Friend Me is decent but often behind.

Paul,

I have been researching this more. Do you update contacts and/or your calendar on the Tab? I do (all the time). For now, I have not been having this issue since the reset. But that was only this morning and I have not been working today. However, I found this link in which someone suggests clearing calendar storage takes care of the issue. Several others responding saying it fixed the problem for them as well. If you try it, and it works (or doesn't work), can you post results? Good luck!

I seem to get these (along with the out of space message) after the Tab has been on for nearly 3 days or so. The last time this happened I checked up time and it was 68 hours or so.

Yes, but the "permanently" delete account settings, databases, etc. scares me....

Yes, my calendar is updated daily because I am using Exchange Active Sync. My contacts less often.

I did clear the calendar storage and the issue almost completely vanished. It will go days without the error and then one might pop up. I go to clear the calendar storage and I get another several days of FC-free tabbing.

One interesting thing though is now, every so often, I get a FC on the Samsung update service when I turn on the Tab (not wake, turn it on from being off). It's obviously going to check for updates and failing. I can still manually check for updates. This didn't start until recently.

I do agree and recommend clearing CALENDAR STORAGE and seeing how that works. (keep in mind I did a factory reset last week - not sure that needs to be part of the solution)
