Hello,
My wife has the Epic 4G while I have an Evo 4G. We have the insurance plan on both of our phones.
Recently the space bar on the Epic's physical keyboard broke. It is still useable, but it doesn't work as well as it should. I took it to the local Sprint store that happens to have a tech center; they looked at it, said they could fix it, and that I could pick it up in an hour.
I returned only to have them tell me that instead of fixing it, they were ordering a replacement phone as part of the insurance plan. That's OK, except my wife won't be happy about having to set up the new phone the way she had the old phone.
One of the Sprint employees insisted that when we get the new device and log in with the wife's Gmail account, all of the apps that she had previously downloaded would be re-downloaded, including all of the free apps (I think she has only downloaded free apps).
My question: Is this true? When we get the new device, will the apps re-download after logging in with her Gmail account? I'm not so sure the person knew what she was talking about as I haven't heard that before.
Can anybody in the know please clarify? Any other suggestions to make moving to a replacement device as painless as possible?
Thank you!!!
-Ryan
