Getting old text messages back?

So this afternoon I finally got the replacement for my potentially explosive Verizon N7. I backed everything up and all is good but I totally neglected to back up or do anything about my text messages. The old phone is wiped and out of my hands. Does anyone know of a way to get back any text messages I had on my old phone? I'm assuming they're gone for good, no?

Thanks.

To back them up? No. But they can be transferred using SmartSwitch, I think.

And they're gone for good..

If you didn't back them up, wiped the previous phone, and it's out of your hands there really is no way to get them back.

Open Message+, the Verizon app, select restore messages from the drop down menu and it'll restore up to 90 days of messages. I'd do it over WiFi. Then you can select another messaging app such as Samsung Messages or Textra as your primary messaging app. It's kind of time consuming but it'll get your messages back.

Or if you don't care about them being on your actual phone you can login to the Message+ window on your computer and browse through them.
