Getting "Sending..." message every 10 seconds

I just upgraded from the G1 to the Samsung Vibrant. Every 10 seconds (i counted) I am getting a message at the bottom of the screen that says "Sending..." and all the buttons light up. It really annoying and I wanted to know if anyone else has seen this problem before.
