Getting space

Delete .thumbdata file and is 6gb on note 2 but the occupied space didnt decrease on deleting What is the problem?

What file management app?
Does the file management app you are using implement its own recycle bin?

Using note 2 es explorer and yes es explorer has recycle bin but dont use the bin
