Ghost typing on an old LG Optimus phone---->> types by itself

[AC Question]

Hi there,

So I have an old LG Optimus phone. Recently it has been ghost typing, the letter "p" keeps reoccurring, and it types by itself.

Sometimes, when I hit a button nothing happens. Sometimes the screen moves by itself (as if I am swiping).

1. What is going on / wrong with the phone?

2. If it is the digitizer? how much will it be to repair it?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a screen protector on? If so, remove it. Also, does this only happen when the phone is plugged in and charging?

How hard is it to install a new digitizer?

It happens all the time, charging or not.

The ease of replacing a screen will vary depending on the phone. Search YouTube for "[your phone model] screen replacement" and see what you can find. You'd also have to find the replacement part somewhere.
