Gingerbread is here.

I flashed the RUU for GB earlier today and when I went to settings, software, status, the source is Verizon Wireless but everything else is blank. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

You are looking in the wrong spot for your software information. You need to go to menu-settings-about phone-software information. That's where you get your information about what software you are running.

Has VZW stopped the update to gb? I have tried multiple times and it just says no updates. Btw I am in tn.

Yes, due to the voicemail notifications not working.

A few people, such as myself, were able to get the update before they pulled it. I found it strange since I live in a small town, yet my friend in the city was unable to acquire it. (central Ohio)

And now that I think about it, a female friend of mine lives in between Memphis and Nashville was actually able to get the update. I texted her about it when it was released and she downloaded it later in the day. So I guess it's just random luck?

Hopefully we can expect the "newer" version sometime soon.

Anyone hear anything about an ETA on the fix? I would have guessed the would push more of a rush on it given that many people installed the update with the VM notification bug.

How long have you had your phone? It took them almost 2 months to fix the reboot debacle from MR1, I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon.

Not disagreeing. Just noting that at least this time the fix needed seems a bit more straightforward, and has apparently already been done by developers.

That's what I was thinking. It seemed like the reboot thing had them stumped a little. This seems like it could be a quick fix.

I am on my 4th Android device and must say I am almost in love with my current tb but its issues like this that make the iPhone look better and better everyday.
