Gingerbread keyboard question

Quick question - will the Gingerbread update (2.3) allow me to change the keyboard and use the 2.2 keyboard?

I really like the current keyboard. I tried the GB keyboard download from Market but just didn't like it.

As far as I can tell, there are NO changes to the keyboard in the Thunderbolt Gingerbread update.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Looks the same to me. However, I've not had time to test everything.
