having the same problem on the droid x. the keyboard is maybe 1/4 of the screen height, where it should be around 1/2 the screen height. its not possible to use it like that. there must be something about the dx display given the size that doesn't like the gingy keyboard.

i just realised when i was messing around with my wifes droid eris i flashed vanilla tazz froyo v23 on it and the default keyboard was 2.3 god its such a good keyboard

This keyboard is also available for 2.1 now. I'm running it on my Fascinate with no issues so far.

Yep, this IS the Gingerbread keyboard, just ported over to devices now also running 2.1.

On a side note, I did notice that Haptic Feedback doesn't seem to be working properly, at least not on my Fascinate. Not a deal breaker though, I really like this keyboard.

Just installed it on my non-rooted Evo. Very nice and very fast! definately a nice upgrade from the stock keyboard. I especialy love the darker color.

Idk if anyone else is having a problem with this or not, but I have a V1 Moto Droid, stock 2.2.1 OS and Im having a problem with the smily key on the GB keyboard. When I go to long press the smily key, I cant choose any of the other smilys except for this one :-D. When I long press the other smilys come up but when I let go of the key the smily is choosen every time. It doent let me choose any of the other ones.

Any suggestions or advice on what to do? Loving the keyboard too, thanks to all who got it to work! Its great!

You have to hold your finger down and slide it over to whichever smiley you want. If you let go it cancels out.

I believe it is a 2.3 only feature, seeing as how this is a system-wide feature.

FWIW: For the DX Users out there with the formatting problem ....

If you go to the market and search "Keyboard from Android 2.3" there is a free download (paid version too with some other options) that installs on the DX and has no formatting problems ...
