Gingerbread: Lost call sound through headphone jack

Hello. My Optimus S updated to 2.3.3 this morning and other than the annoying color scheme everything was fine until I plugged in my AUX cable in my car.

With 2.2.x I could plug in my AUX cable and listen to music and when a call came through I could hear the person through the car speakers (or headphones), then when the call ended, the music would restart.

Now with 2.3.3 the music plays like normal but when a call comes in, the call sound does not come through the jack. This is a big problem while driving, having to plug and unplug the cable. (Same phone, same cable, same car, no previous issues, all other sounds OK)

I can't find an option in the menus to enable call sound through headphone jack. Is this a bug or they disable it on purpose?

My co-workers Optimus S has the same issue as well now, but my boss who declined the update does not.

Nobody else has this issue?

I also no longer can hear calls through headphones after updating to gingerbread. this along with the wifi issues make gingerbread crappy.

anyone have a fix for this???

KW- I'm in the same boat as you (and on phandroid...) I also posted on LG's forums. This is pissing me off.

I found a fix by completely by chance...

I found a cable at Target made by Griffin (model RD17090) on clearance for $5. It is like a regulax AUX cable but has a 4 section 1/8 plug on the phone end and a MIC built in to the radio end.

Now my phone and car are cooperating again.

Same problem here...what a **** update... In what universe did they see this as an improvement? Call thru aux cable doesn't work (I used this feature a lot and I shouldn't have to buy another cable to fix what worked great before), icons are harder to read, keyboard is harder to use, whole system seems slower to respond.... Only merits I've found are the little pointer under the cursor when you're typing and the ability to move a few apps over to SD storage that I couldn't before....BFD

Just discovered an added bonus with this cable. It has a button near the microphone that you use to answer a call when it comes in, but I discovered if you push it when a call is not coming in, it restarts your music where you left off and if press again, it pauses the music. :)

If you did take the update and are having issues, you can now be flashed back to Froyo until LG releases a fix - just take it to any Sprint store that does service/repair, or PM me for the file.

I have the same issue, my headset was working fine until GB update. Now I can no longer use my headset for calls because the mic doesn't work. Headset mic works fine with other voice apps but not for calls.
