What drivers to I need. I have the latest version of RSD.

Just do a google search for rsd lite drivers. There is a 32 or a 64 bit depending on what system you are running. Once you install that windows should recognize your device.

Quick question, homies - Is it confirmed that we absolutely need to download and use Koush's D2 bootstrapper for this to work? I already have a rooted backup of 2.2.340 OTA so I'm good there.

EDIT: Also, I'm seeing some conflicting stuff - Anyone know if I can flash the rooted GB over a 2.2.340 ROM? Over at MDW they say not to do it and go back to stock before flashing GB.

Also, I'm hoping upon hope that getting their hands on this is why Jrummy and Kejar delayed Liberty 2.0

Yes you need d2 to boot into recovery once gb is installed. I wiped my gb install due to backup syncing issues. I did a wipe and reinstalled rooted gb and I'm running smooth now. I sbf .340, then rooted then installed gb. don't know if you can get away with not sbf'ing

Please let me know how this works for you Steve, since I am also running Rubix.

Before I go an mess up my phone you seem to be more experience on this.

Keep me posted!

Thanks. I will give that a try tonight.

Hmmmmm just curious were u getting the sync symbol on the status bar? I cant seem to get it to go away and syncs seems to work

This is when the signal is changing. Blue is full and when it drops they change to white.

I don't think that's the case, because I can have 1 or 2 bars and it can still be blue.

I am thinking maybe white is meaning 1x? because I have not seen a 1x logo yet.

I have only seen the bars go white a few times and it only does it for a few seconds usually.

Once you get rooted gb you will have to sbf and root again if you want to go back to rubix

backup assistant ?
ever since i installed gingerbread it seems like the backup assistant is constantly running & i cant stop it ,it also seems to drain my battery very fast..
has anybody had this problem & is there anyway to fix it ?

Why would you use backup assistant when all of your contacts are stored in your google account anyways? I always press skip when it asks you to setup the backup assistant.

So far my battery life seems significantly better on gingerbread than froyo.

Ok, I have apex installed....can someone please walk me through the install of rooted GB step by step for a dumby like me?

Thanks

I installed the TBH rooted version (which is the same as the one at MDW) and have had zero issues so far. Gotta say - GB is slick. Fast, stable, and the improved transitions, blur widgets, and new notification bar are all really nice. Just downloaded and installed D2 Bootstrapper and Titanium and am restoring all system apps (w/data).

What I did when I first installed the Froyo OTA (2.2.340) was root, grab bootstrap and make a backup. I just flashed that (was weird to see all those blur widgets - ha), went back into recovery, wiped everything (battery stats, Dalvik, cache partition), did a factory reset, flashed the TBH rooted GB and it booted right up without a problem.

EDIT:

Yes, i think it may be because i didn't do a full wipe before installing gb on my rooted 340

I also have this, but did a full wipe before flashing and skipped the sync when setting up. Anyone?

EDIT #2: I shouldn't have signed into the stock email at setup. Don't know what I was thinking - been on K-9 for months. It was polling my crap hotmail every 5 minutes. Problem solved.

EDIT #3: I went to work with Titanium, all apps restored w/data, switched home launcher to LP+ (the 3D app drawer was unstable, but I haven't run the latest update - 2D is fine), froze all bloat (although you can actually permanently delete now with that exploit, but I figured I'd keep it just in case), put all widgets back in. Everything seems to be okay. I love the new dialer - looks really nice. Of course, all this restoring, widgeting, installing, downloading, etc, wiped my battery completely out, but still - REALLY liking what I'm seeing so far here.

Ok ,Im wanting to get on the GB train although this is my first attempt at rooting. I know there is a lot of info out there but as it seems as if things change frequently, I wanted to ask for some help with some basic simple steps.

I have an unrooted DX running 2.2.1
Do i need to be rooted? (I tried downloading z4root onto my phone but the file was not able to be read?)

I have a mac. Is this possible or is it only for PC's?

I have downloaded the rooted GB version (dxgbrooted.zip) from "mydroidworld" onto my mac
How do I "place on the root of my sd card" ? and does it need to be unzipped first?

Thanks for any and all help!
