You don't put the SBF on your SD card. You push it from your PC to your phone via RSDlite. You have to boot into the bootloader on the phone in order to SBF. Hold both volume, then press power if I recall correctly.

Jersey-
Last night I was EXACTLY where you are (or were...did you get it?), hang in there. If you're still having problems go to the thread that jkdjedi posted in #275 and read through it...I had to read it a few times but it is exactly what you need to do and you WILL get it!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Here's a question:
Did I get in this mess (although I learned a lot the past 2 1/2 hours) because I DIDN'T flash back to the 2.3.340 BEFORE trying to go back to Apex?

that's exactly what happened.

Yes, ty, I am trying to push the SBF again right now, I think I unplugged it too early the first time when it was bootlooping. Now I ma jsut gona let it sit in RSD and see what happens. Its at the Phone Is Being Rebooted stage. Ok now it hit 100% and says Please manually power up this phone, yet im looking at my phone and its bootlooping. What should be my next step, lol

I see what they are doing there and I can install drivers and such on my pc but my pc cannot see my phone cuz it never powers up that far. I did the rooted gb build, deodexed build, then flashed that new honeycomblclock thing.zip and that has been the root of the issue. so i went and took out my sd and deleted what i had put on last night, wipe data and rebooted, still looping. I need cwm recovery to try more backups. Just a brief rundown of whats goin on

same here but flashing deodexed gimgerbread in bootstrap got me going again.

Hey jerseyboy, you might get lucky with a battery pull or two until bootstrap comes up, then from there flash the deodexed gingerbread zip file, you'll be good after that.

ummm so are you saying disconect the usb cable, battery pull and just power on? Ive done that for over 2days with nothing but bootloops. I wish i could show people in person cuz this is absoutely crazy to me. Unbricking my old incredible was easier than this, lol. The only recovery I can get into is MOTO recovery which someone told me u cant flash anything with. I feel I'm getting closer but still missing something.

Alright well i unplugged it, battery pull, and BOOTLOOP! I cant escape this. I cant get anything to work. Everyonne has been so nice in giving me instructions that I have followed word for word, I got RSD to go 100% push the sbf, I honestly feel sad. I will find away, I had to pay full price for this phone, I will get it back, I dont care if I go back to unrooted stock blur. I just want my damn phone to work.

It's alive!!! It's Alive!!!!! Sweet Jesus on a Popsicle stick its alive!
I found out the problem, when I was getting the boot loop after RSD hit 100%, its not complete. I had to battery pull, wipe date/cache, then plug it back in usb, and stock recovery reboot and BOOSH the whole Verizon Wireless programming thing made a call, and activated. Now its at the setup screen. So I assume I am back to stock blur 2.2 un-rooted, but I dont care, IT'S ALIVE!!! You all get my thanks, seriously. I have learned alot since August last year and this is another step. I will go back thru and click thank you to all of you that walked me thru this and post that this case is C L O S E D !

SO that means I have to sbf back before I try to run Rubix 2.0?

Since yesterday my rooted GB is been acting up, nothing major, just a little lagging at times.

No sure if any of you are having this problem.

It's getting a little annoying for example, while switching home screens it takes like half a second to flip trough screens, when i click on any home icon the app takes awhile to open, mainly text.

I do not have it Overclock and I took AWD Ex out...it's been weird though, signal and data work fine just laggy.

Freeze some of the bloatware with the titanium app, that will free up some ram.

I did since I installed rooted gb...i did a battery pull and the phone its back to normal. No lag, for now. I might the new Rubix, this is becoming really annoying.

Yes, you need to go back to 2.3.340 and re-root BEFORE you try to go to Rubix. It cost me 2 1/2 hours last night trying to do the same thing but to Apex...although I DID learn a lot about this phone in that time...

Oh man, I was going to do it here at work..then until I get home then.

Do not get me wrong I love this GB but for some reason it gets a little laggy at times, not a lot but so far it's been getting on my nerves.

I might sbf back and all that to Rubix 2.0 or I might just try the new Rubix if it has Swype...(I asked on the Thread dedicated to the new Rubix but so far no answer)

Anyhow did a battery pull and so far so good, just like the 1st day when I installed GB, we will see how it goes before the day its over...

Edit: F this...my cell just rebooted after I made a call...I am trying the new Rubix since it's the easiset way to go right now...I do not feel like doing the whole sbf right now...

Of course the GB leak is going to be buggy. It's a leaked build version, not a final build version.

The only way to go to a Rubix Froyo ROM or any other custom Froyo ROM is to SBF back. If Rubix has been updated with the Gingerbread leak, you may be able to install it over the Motorola Gingerbread leak. I would definitely read any instructions for a custom GB ROM twice and follow them ver batim.

Hopefully for those of us that have gone back to Froyo, a Froyo ROM or even rooted blur, the change over to the official build of GB will be much smoother. That is if you take the OTA or a special certified build here somewhere. It's time this process was a bit smoother

Leaks are always a bit dicey. The OTA will be much smoother if you go that route. Now that the leak is out though, you'll start to see more custom ROMs on Gingerbread. I'm sure Liberty is already hard at work.

Ok question:

I installed the non DEODEXED GB, then i went ahead and flashed rubiX BlurryBread.

How do I go about installing the Deodexed version?

Do I re-installed the regular GB or can I just flashed the Deodexed version?

Or something else?

Help will much appreciated!!
