Gingerbread Sync issue

Installed gingerbread rooted with TBH tether patch. Everything was great until a few days ago...

I would notice that my 3G icon was white. Disable and re-enable sync a few times and it would pop back to blue and I would have a dozen e-mails or so awaiting me from hours ago.

It has been getting more and more often that it wont keep sync with google...

Now I have to do a battery pull to get my e-mails etc... And it wont even maintain sync long enough to download an app.

This is also affecting much more than e-mails. Also market and other google services.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue after the stock OTA Gingerbread update. I have to power cycle my phone in order to restore the 3G connection and have my accounts sync again. I'm hoping to not have to do a factory reset as I am getting really tired of doing them and resetting all of the settings on my phone.

Try going in to the gmail app from manage applications and clear data. That fixed my syncing issue a few days ago.

I GOT RID OF IT.........

After some serious searching, the solution that worked for me (and others) was to uninstall yahoo mail (tip also said corporate synch but I am not running that app); reboot the phone; and then add the yahoo and other deleted accounts. This worked flawlessly and had a huge positive impact on battery life. Haven't seen the synch icon on the top menu bar since the reboot.

The sync icon will definitely stay longer than 24 hours if you have yahoo or corporate synch accounts on the phone. At least Motorola is not suggesting a factory reset on the phone--this is the most popular suggestion on the other boards! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
