Gingerbread Update for D2G

Moto has halted the updates....guess they found an issue with security in Exchange Mail and what not......no idea when it will be back. I hate it myself, I got GB and it was currupted. VZW gave me a new D2G and now it has Froyo again :(

Thank You , that would explain why many of us haven't recieved it yet.

I checked for an update and it told me no updates available..so, I went to my settings to see what system version I had and this is what mine shows: 4.5.607.A956.Verizon.en.US and Adrod version 2.3.3 so I guess I have the gingerbread and didn't even know it? I'm not really good with cell phones, never had one until last year.

Looks like it's being rolled out again. I can't get it here in the Bay Area. Has anybody else had any luck?

My mother has a D2G and every time I check for an update it says it is up to date. No GB :(. Its running stock here in northern New England.

Edit: As of yesterday (10/19/2011) the update is installed and appears to be working properly.

Reading the moto forums, it seems a few are getting to be part of a Moto radom soak test on Friday/Saturday (Oct 14th / 15th)

Update process went smoothly on my end - no problems noted beyond some icons for certain apps not displaying properly upon initial reboot. Another reboot resolved that issue. Also, enabled internal phone storage and SD card encryption. No hiccups and phone performance not impacted thus far during typical use (which was a pleasant surprise) - I don't typically do video capture or otherwise move large amounts of data so I can't comment on that.

Downloaded this morning, Available in MSP area.

Issues:
No more root capability (z4root) without a computer
Bluetooth broken (wont pair with headset) [going to need help with this if it is fixable]

Other than that everything works better than before.

Girlfriend got her update on Wednesday. Totally in love with it. No more freezing or random reboots. She was ready to give up. Think this saved her.

Ughhh i wish i still didnt have the random reboots! Thats the only thing thats slowly making me hate my phone.... I wish I knew how to make this stop.

I have noticed that my phone, post-update, is occasionally rebooting when opening/closing the keyboard. Anyone else experiencing this? Other than this one glitch, it has been pretty stable with no major problems. Internal/SD encryption has been solid with no major slowdown noted. I wonder how long before we start to see Android-based phones with crypto-specific processors in them to offload encryption/decryption processing from the main processor? This would give both a performance boost and be a battery saver, based on my experience with crypto in embedded devices.
